At Mane, we keep it simple and honest: the app is built to work without an account and to keep most of your data on your phone. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and with whom.
The data controller is Théo Denis, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) operating under the trade name "DT Studio". For any question about your data, write to us at mane.contact.app@gmail.com.
Mane does not ask you to create an account, does not collect your name or email address in the app, and does not use your data for advertising.
Most of your data (profile, history, preferences) stays on your phone and is not sent to a central server. It disappears if you delete the app or reset your data in the app settings.
To power the AI and payments, we rely on third-party providers, to whom some data may be transmitted for the sole purpose of delivering the service:
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union. Where that is the case, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
What we collect. When you use virtual try-on, hair analysis, color analysis or hair tracking, you choose to send a photo that may contain your face. This is the only face data Mane processes.
What we do not do. Mane creates no biometric template, no faceprint and no identifier that could recognise you from one photo to another or among other people. Mane uses neither ARKit, nor TrueDepth, nor any facial recognition or identification technology. Your photos are never used to train an AI model, are never sold or rented, and are not used for advertising.
What it is used for. The photo is used solely to produce the result you asked for: a try-on image, a hair health score, a color palette or haircut recommendations.
Where it goes. The photo is transmitted over HTTPS, through our secure Cloudflare proxy, to a single AI provider depending on the feature used: Anthropic for analyses, Fal.ai for virtual try-on. No face photo is transmitted to any other provider — not Cloudinary, not Google, not RevenueCat, not Apple.
How long. Mane keeps no face photo on its servers: we operate no user database. Requests sent to Fal.ai are configured so that the request content is not stored, and the generated image is automatically deleted after 24 hours. Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days and does not use them to train its models.
On your phone. Your photos and results are kept locally, inside the app. You can erase them at any time by deleting the item concerned, resetting your data from the settings, or uninstalling the app.
Photos sent for analysis are kept only as long as needed to process them and return a result to you. Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it. Subscription data is kept for as long as required by our legal and accounting obligations.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data. The most direct way to erase your personal data in the app is to reset your data from the settings, or delete the app. For any request, contact us at mane.contact.app@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Mane is not intended for children under 15 and does not knowingly collect their data.
